Traveling with family can be 1 of 2 things: stressful or exciting. Traveling to Dubai with Chase, Ryker and Grey was one of the best family vacations I’ve ever had.
We took a 15 hour flight on Emirates Airlines , (fly4.emirates.com) which according to Ryker only felt like 1 hour thanks to all the video games he got to play. This was a huge relief to me, because flying with kids isn’t always easy.
We stayed at Atlantis the Palm, (https://www.atlantisthepalm.com/) which is an amazing, ocean themed resort. They have a huge aquarium in the lobby with sharks, fish and all kinds of sea creatures as soon as you walk in, and even has it’s very own water park!
One of our favorite places we visited during our trip was La Mer Beach. This beach is seriously SO beautiful. The water was super mellow and clear, the beach was so clean and the boys collected shells and played all day.
Afterwards, we went to Burj Khalifa (http://www.burjkhalifa.ae/) – AKA the tallest building in the world! We went all the way to the 127th floor, and even though I’m super afraid of heights, the view was amazing and totally worth it. You take a super fast elevator all the way to the top and when you get there, it’s like Instagram heaven. The views are literally incomparable.
Speaking of views, did I mention we went on a seaplane?! Sea Wings Dubai https://seawings.ae/_ flew us over the ocean that showed us all of Dubai and the islands, which was incredible. The kids were amazed.
In order to be true to Mom Style, you know we had to make a stop at The Dubai Mall. It is huge and has sooo many cute kids stores and a 2 story aquarium with an underwater zoo! We got to walk through a tunnel at The Dubai Aquarium (https://www.thedubaiaquarium.com/) that basically puts you inside the tank.
The kids had a blast at Etihad Museum, (https://www.visitdubai.com/en/pois/etihad-museum) which tells you all about the history of Dubai and the culture there. Grey loved looking at all of the military costumes and trucks. But we had the most fun on the Desert Safari
We went on a Desert Safari with Platinum Heritage Safari (https://www.platinum-heritage.com/) , where we rode on these old land rovers and explored the desert. They take you around a nature reserve and teach you about how people survived in a desert like that and what life was like. At the end they took us to a camp and we had a little feast and the boys played the drums and had a blast. They even got to see a falcon show!
One of the coolest places we got to go was the City Center where we did indoor skydiving at I Fly Dubai, (https://www.theplaymania.com/ifly) . The instructors said I was the best of flyer of the day, but I wasn’t very surprised- I’m a pretty FLY mom (pun totally intended).
If you’re thinking of going to Dubai (www.visitdubai.com), go as soon as you can. There was so much to do, see, explore and learn. Our trip to Dubai was one we will never forget.
